Dr. Rick De Villiers

MBChB - Physician

Dr. De Villiers completed a Master’s degree in Medical Science (Pharmacology) in 1997.  He worked as a clinical research associate in the pharmaceutical industry where he was involved in drug research. He completed his medical degree and relocated to Canada in 2004.  He worked in Family Medicine for more than 10 years. 

He holds a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pain Management and Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of Alberta and is an Advanced Diplomate of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management. He has done further training in ultrasound-guided pain procedures.

He joined the Bill Nelems Pain & Research Centre in 2013 and his area of interest is spine pain.

He is married with 3 children. He enjoys exploring the backcountry in British Columbia and combines that with his passion for landscape photography.
