Dr. Michael Butterfield
MSc, MD, FRCPC (Psychiatry and Pain Medicine) - Physician
Dr. Butterfield is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC with appointments in the Departments of Psychiatry and Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, and is the Director of the Pain Medicine Residency Program. He obtained his medical degree at UBC, completed his specialty training in psychiatry at Dalhousie University and was the inaugural resident of the Pain Medicine subspecialty residency program at the UBC.
His areas of interest include headache medicine, neuropathic pain, addiction medicine, interventional pain medicine and treatment resistant depression. He currently works at the Bill Nelems Pain & Research Centre, St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, the UBC Headache Clinic and the NINET-IMH Clinic.
