Dr. Matthew Shay
PhD, Master's of Science in Clinical Psychology - Physician
Dr. Matthew Shay has a PhD and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calgary, a program accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts – Honours from the University of British Columbia Okanagan in 2014.
He completed his Clinical Residency in Halifax through the Clinical Psychology Residency Training Program at Nova Scotia Health. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, contributing to their research program as well as working clinically at the Bill Nelems Pain & Research Centre.
His clinical and research background is primarily in the psychology of chronic health conditions. He has completed research projects investigating hypertension in pregnancy. He has worked clinically with chronic pain, amongst other long-term health conditions, across a variety of health service settings in hospitals in Calgary and Halifax.
